ESD 112 hosted the Southwest Washington regional competition for Poetry Out Loud: National Recitation Contest. The competition, presented in partnership with the Washington State Arts Commission, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Poetry Foundation, is part of a national program that encourages high school students to learn about great poetry through memorization, performance, and competition.

The top two finishers advanced to the State Competition in Tacoma. They are:

Elizabeth Williamson, Vancouver School of Arts and Academics, Vancouver School District.
