School districts across Southwest Washington are now enrolling kindergarten students for the 2025-2026 school year. Families with children five years of age by August 31, 2025, are encouraged to enroll early to help ensure a smooth start for their child and allow schools time to prepare classrooms, staffing, and resources.
How to Enroll:
- Check the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) website in your county of residence (links to Clark County and Cowlitz County GIS sites are included here) to determine your assigned school district.
- Contact that school district to determine specific enrollment steps. In most cases, kindergarten enrollment can be completed online.
- Gather the necessary documents. Parents will need proof of:
- Their child’s age (such as a birth certificate)
- Residency in that school district
- Their child has had the required immunizations. Please note that Washington State requires immunization records to be medically verified.
Additional information about school enrollment requirements can be found on the Washington State Governor’s Office of the Education Ombuds website.
