Ten school districts and ESD 112 partnered in the first Take Root Job Fair August 4. The event attracted more than 150 potential employees and several district positions were filled on the spot! The event offered an opportunity for employees interested in starting or growing a career in education to meet recruiters from local schools and learn more about career options. Open positions included teachers, paraeducators, substitute teachers, bus drivers, school nurses, special education professionals, occupational therapists and speech and language pathologists. Certification and fingerprinting services were offered on site as well.
“After several years of reductions in staffing, many districts are beginning to see an increase in open positions,” said Assistant Human Resources Director Melissa Kreuder. “The fair offered a one-stop opportunity for potential employees to take the next step in their career in education.”
