Family Community Resource Coordinator Hilda Lail is still helping families at Harney Elementary during the pandemic, even though the services look a little different now. Once a week, Hilda, along with school staff, are handing out grocery bags of dry goods to the school’s families in need. She’s also delivering food directly to households that are not able to get out because of transportation or health issues.
The Foundation for Vancouver Public Schools provides funding to support Family Community Resource Centers throughout the district. During the pandemic, through community donations, the Foundation has been helping families with basic needs. If you would like to help families in need, visit the Foundation for Vancouver Public Schools website and learn how you can help.
