The road between Vancouver and Olympia is a familiar one to ESD 112 Superintendent Tim Merlino this legislative session because several critical education bills are in front of state leaders. Merlino has spent countless hours on Capitol Hill meeting not only with the Southwest Washington delegation, but also with the Chair of the Early Learning and K-12 Education Committee Senator Lisa Wellman (pictured) and other House and Senate leaders.
Merlino joins other ESD superintendents advocating for school safety, Climate Science, special education, and Career Connected Learning. Also important to ESDs is delaying the move to the SEBB (School Employees Benefits Board) because it only funds a small portion of actual ESD employee benefits costs.
