Due to Governor Jay Inslee’s March 13 announcement of a statewide ban on all public gatherings of more than 250 people and closures to schools throughout the state of Washington, the ESD 112 Regional High School Art Show reception, which was originally scheduled for Wednesday, March 18, has been cancelled.
Winners of the Regional Awards are still set to compete against entries from around Washington State in the Annual State Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) Art Show in Olympia later this spring. OSPI is keeping a close eye on the COVID-19 situation and will make a decision about postponement of this show to later this spring, if needed.
In addition to the recognition they’ve received from ESD 112, several student artists received scholarships from Central Washington University (CWU) and Pacific Northwest College of the Arts (PNCA).

These 13 pieces received the highest average score in their categories and will represent the Southwest region in the Annual State Superintendent of Public Instruction Art Show in Olympia. The number of regional winners is determined by the total number of pieces in the regional show.

Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA) Scholarships
For seniors, PNCA is awarding a $1,000 scholarship per year in addition to a merit scholarship ranging from $11,000-$20,000 per year. Students in grades 9-11 will receive a $400 pre-college summer program scholarship to be used in the summer of 2020.
