In June 2024, the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) announced that 39 schools in the Educational Service District 112 (ESD 112) region are being recognized for academic growth and closing opportunity gaps in the 2022-23 and 2021-22 school years. Among these, three schools are being honored for academic achievement in both years: Tukes Valley Elementary (Battle Ground School District), Lincoln Elementary (Vancouver Public Schools), and Canyon Creek Middle School (Washougal School District).

School districts are evaluated for this honor based on graduation rates, standardized test scores, dual credit participation, attendance rates, and other improvement frameworks. Districts may receive honors in one or more of three categories: closing gaps, growth for one or more student groups, and achievement for the entire school.
