About MyJOB

The My Journey Out Beyond (MyJOB) Program provides pre-employment training and internships to incarcerated youth, ages 14 – 25, residing in Green Hill School, Echo Glen Children’s Center, Woodinville Community Facility, Touchstone Community Facility and Oakridge Community Facility. MyJOB is designed to help prepare youth for entering the workforce by providing work readiness training, career-related learning experiences, and the chance to participate in a paid internship.

Services include:

Soft skills training, time management, punctuality, financial literacy, mock interviews, resume building, accessing services/supports.

Informed decision-making regarding career options through vocational assessments, interest inventory and career pathways.

Classroom-based interactive instruction with topics including goal setting, effective communication, conflict resolution, and on-the-job skills.

Promote enrollment, assist in admissions processes, explore, and compare post-secondary options, assist in transitioning post-secondary opportunities into the community.

Individual activities that teach youth about various occupations, paid and unpaid work-based learning experiences in an integrated work setting.

Services are provided based on need, age, and readiness.

Washington State Department of Children, Youth & Families

These services were developed in partnership with Washington State Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF).

MyJOB works with DCYF Employment Coordinators to provide referrals for youth in order to continue receiving services upon their release from an institution.
