When Child Care Works, Families Work
About
What We’re Doing
In partnership with Child Care Aware of Washington, we’re tackling the child care crisis head-on, because our children can’t wait.
The current state of child care in Washington is unsustainable. There is a shortage of available care, costs are soaring, and businesses are feeling the strain as employees struggle to balance work and family responsibilities. Parents can’t afford to pay higher rates and child care providers can’t afford to raise wages, provide benefits, or grow their programs. High-quality child care requires an investment – in the staff and in our children. Families can only afford to pay so much. The math simply doesn’t add up!
We envision a future where child care providers earn a living wage, and families have universal access to the care they need. Join us in creating a sustainable future for early care and education in Washington State.
Our Vision
Affordable, accessible, high-quality child care for every family, with living wages for child care providers.
Our Solution
In partnership with Child Care Aware of Washington, we’re building a pathway to:
- Create access to high-quality, affordable child care for all families at no more than 7% of family income.
- Ensure living wages and competitive benefits for child care providers.
