About Curae

About the Curae Center

Our mission is for students and families served by the Curae Center to experience care in a way that supports them in reaching their emotional and academic goals so they can experience a sense of belonging that is transferable to the larger community.

The Curae Center supports elementary students who need additional social, emotional, and behavioral support while benefiting from mental health services. Our program combines academic, therapeutic, and behavioral interventions tailored to each student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).

The program offers:

  • Day treatment setting
  • Individual and group therapy, as well as family therapy
  • Focus on student and family needs
  • Community outings and outdoor experiences
  • Systems model; integrating families, school districts, and community partners
  • Individualized instruction in academics, social skills, emotional regulation, communication, play, and conflict resolution
  • Behavior management aligned with each student’s Behavior Support Plan, using de-escalation principles
  • Adherence to guidelines for least intrusive interventions and best practices
