Message from ESD 112 Superintendent Tim Merlino
While many students and staff are heading back to class, some of our schools are still in the midst of challenging contract negotiations and local work stoppages. These are unprecedented and emotional times not just in our region, but all across the state.
We at ESD 112 want to acknowledge the difficult circumstances that stem from the Legislature’s complex funding model that has led to confusion and challenges in Washington’s school districts. We know everyone in education is impacted by this complex new funding landscape: students, families, teachers, support staff, and administrators. As we look to the year ahead, we anticipate a renewed collective focus on the more than 100,000 children, teachers, school staff and education leaders we serve.
I am honored to serve alongside so many talented and knowledgeable staff both here at the ESD and out in our districts. They care deeply about education and work hard to support students, families and communities. Thank you for collaborating with us to ensure another productive and exciting school year.
