Professional Development and Continuing Education

ESD 112 offers professional development and continuing education classes for the PreK–Third Grade Community of professionals working with children and families. Topics address WA State Core Competencies for Early Learning Professionals and School Age Professionals. Classes are instructed by experts in the field who are Washington State approved trainers. Courses include the following topics:

Convenient for you and your staff

  • Schedule when and where it works for you. Trainings can take place onsite or at ESD 112.
  • Receive a customized professional development plan and meet with your personal coach to practice strategies and next steps.

Affordable rates

Online Trainings In-Person Trainings
1-15 people: $100 per hour 1-15 people: $125 per hour
16-30 people: $125 per hour 16-30 people: $150 per hour
31-45 people: $150 per hour 31-45 people: $175 per hour
46-60 people: $200 per hour 46-60 people: $250 per hour
61+ people: $250 per hour 61+ people: $325 per hour

*Prices listed are for single trainer and do not include travel expenses. Rates are subject to change if travel expenses are required or if course requires multiple trainers.

Family Child Care

Providers may coordinate a group to fund the cost of training. ESD can provide space and materials for training. Trainings can be held on Saturdays or in the evening during non-business hours.

Child Care and Preschool Centers

Training can be provided at your site and held during in-service days, Saturdays, or in the evenings.

About Your Trainers

Tracy Collins
Tracy Collins comes to the field with a love for working with children and families. Tracy has over 30 years of experience in the field of early childhood education and has worked in a wide variety of settings. Tracy earned advanced degrees in Early Childhood Education/Child Development and Human Development and Psychology. Tracy taught in early childhood education programs in Massachusetts, Texas, and Maine, returning to the Pacific Northwest in 2014. In addition to her love of young children, Tracy is an avid fan of dogs and volunteers in the early childhood program at Oregon Museum of Science (OMSI).
Jesi Sucku
Jesi was born in central Minnesota. After a brief time spent in Chicago going to school for journalism and film, she found a passion for early learning while working as a photographer. She completed a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Human Relations at Saint Cloud State University, then spent a few years as a toddler teacher, in addition to teaching music from infants through Pre-K. She moved to Portland, Oregon in 2015 where she spent some time as an infant and toddler teacher in a Reggio-inspired center before taking a job as a coach for early childhood teachers. She has a passion for Reggio Emilia, Waldorf and Montessori education as well as working to create culturally competent schools and advocating for teachers in the field. Currently she is working on completing a Master’s degree in Constructivism in ECE at Portland State University. Her favorite thing about her work is knowing she is helping to make the world a better place for kids. She lives with her husband Matt, young daughter Norah and dog Archer in Oregon.
Yisbely Torres
Yisbely Torres (She/Her) is a Bilingual Advanced Early Learning Trainer at ESD 112. She graduated from Skidmore College with a BS degree in Elementary Education and Psychology and moved to the Pacific Northwest from New York upon graduating. Prior to working at ESD, she completed student teaching and practical hours in public school districts in New York State both in 1st and 4th grade classrooms. She has also served as a teaching assistant in both preschool classrooms and higher elementary classrooms. Her previous work and education have focused on constructivist approaches to teaching and learning, play-based learning, and environmental and cultural influences on the performance of children in the classroom. She strives to promote inclusive and welcoming methods in education as well as in her trainings.
