About Gorge Academy

Gorge Academy in White Salmon provides a supportive, therapeutic learning environment for K-8 students in Klickitat and Skamania Counties needing behavioral interventions.

The program emphasizes emotional, academic, and social development, offering:

  • A day treatment setting
  • Specialized therapeutic services
  • Family involvement opportunities
  • Support from community social services
  • Behavior management based on each student’s Behavior Support Plan, utilizing trauma informed de-escalation principles
  • Individual or group skills training consistent with each student’s IEP and Behavior Support Plan

Our Goals

  • To help students achieve academic success

  • To help students gain the skills necessary to build strong interpersonal skills and healthy peer relationships

  • To transition students back into their neighborhood school where they can successfully access all aspects of a comprehensive school
