The Washington Schools on the Rise award honors schools where students and staff work together to elevate school culture and amplify student voices. Award recipients must provide data to illustrate the outcomes of student-adult joint school leadership.

“This award celebrates the incredible work happening in schools where students and staff are partnering to create positive change. It’s inspiring to see the dedication to building inclusive, equitable environments that elevate every student’s voice,” said Julie Woods, AWSP Community and Member Relations Coordinator.

Award recipients gain access to valuable resources from the AWSP, supporting their efforts to create inclusive and equitable learning environments.

This is the inaugural year of the Washington Schools on the Rise award. Students, school leaders, superintendents, or district office teams nominate candidates each spring from April 1 to May 31. Winners are awarded annually at the AWSP Summer Conference.
