Prevent Coalition’s Rural Network is preparing to host the second annual Rural Prevention Conference, set to take place on September 25-26, 2024, at the Yakima Convention Center. This year’s theme, “Cultivate, Elevate & Celebrate Rural Voices,” is dedicated to highlighting and empowering rural communities’ unique challenges and successes.

The two-day event will bring together rural prevention professionals, educators, and dedicated volunteers for a comprehensive in-person experience. Attendees will engage in learning, networking, and collaborative solution-building, focusing on issues critical to rural communities throughout Washington.

The Rural Network, a coalition of volunteers and leaders across Washington state, is dedicated to building resiliency and preventing youth substance misuse in rural communities. The conference welcomes current volunteers and professionals and those interested in joining the Rural Network to support this crucial work in their local areas.

By the end of this two-day event, participants will have:

  • Connected with prevention peers across rural Washington.
  • Strategized around the rural network action plan and advanced prevention efforts in rural communities.
  • Learned the latest in science, data analysis, and equity initiatives in the substance misuse prevention field.

The conference fee is $85 per person. Scholarships are available for those in need, and certificates of attendance can be provided upon request.
