Former Educational Service District 112 (ESD 112) Board President Steve Wrightson is retiring from the board of directors after 18 years of service. He attended his last board meeting on Tuesday, April 26. Wrightson, a former Clark County fire chief, has served on the ESD 112 Board since 2004.
During his time on the board, Wrightson served as board president from January 2012 to January 2015, and served on the AESD Executive Board from 2020 to 2021. In his role representing District 3, he offered representation to Hockinson, and part of Battle Ground and Evergreen school districts.
Darlene Stickel, current Board President, shared, “As an exemplary leader, Steve has been a wonderful board member, bringing a positive outlook and unique perspective to our deliberations. He will be missed for his camaraderie, active contributions, and humble demeanor.”
“Steve is a true community servant and we have appreciated the many years he has given to the ESD 112 Board,” said Tim Merlino, superintendent of ESD 112. “Steve’s advocacy for our local schools and ESD programs will be greatly missed.”
Recruitment for a new board member to fill Wrightson’s position is underway and a new board member is expected to be appointed by ESD 112’s May board meeting.
