A Links member can be great resource for organizations involved in disaster preparedness, emergency evacuation, or search and rescue. Links members can help you help others. Members can create curricula or educational resources or provide outreach to the community.
Community Health
Does your program focus on solving community health issues? Links members can be a part of the solution. Members can design and deliver HIV/AIDS awareness training, provide homeless outreach, staff help lines, or assist in food collection and distribution.
Emergency Services
A perfect resource for rural firefighters and EMTs. By providing these essential community services, your volunteers may be eligible to enroll as AmeriCorps members and receive an education award for their invaluable service.
Volunteer Coordinators
Need help increasing your volunteer base or providing incentive for volunteers to step up their involvement? Provide dedicated support to your volunteers with the help of a Links member serving as a Volunteer Coordinator. Volunteer recruitment, training, mentorship guidance, retention, and volunteer appreciation are among the possibilities for these positions.
Safety Programs
Stranger danger, bicycle safety, self-defense, and drug awareness prevention are just a few examples of programs a Links member can design and carry out for your organization.
Summer Programs/ Projects
Many organizations have special programs that operate just during the summer months. Links AmeriCorps positions make a great compliment to most summer programs since these terms can be 300- 450 hours in length. Perfect for college students looking for a way to earn $ during their time off while getting experience in a field that interests them. Summer camps, garden/ farm projects, school-based activities programs, and trail builders are just a few examples of summer project possibilities (must be at least 17 to enroll)! Publicity Interns
Does your organization have programs or services that need media attention? Need to get the word out to your target audience? Have a special event that needs to be promoted? Website or promotional brochures need revamping? A Links PR Intern might be just the fix you’ve been looking for. Links provides individualized training for these positions based on the needs and experience of the incoming members (must be at least 17 to enroll). Contact us for more details.
Credit-based Service, Internships & Practicums
High school and college students may be able to earn $1000+ scholarships for their service through AmeriCorps. In order to count, the project must address a community need and place the member in direct service. Contact us to see if your internship qualifies or for help designing one that does.
